WCAG = Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, created by the W3C.

Version and level

In 2022: WCAG version 2.1, version 2.2 is coming soon (probably in the beginning of 2023).

There are 3 levels:

• A, basic accessibility
• AA, the global standard for the web
• AAA, for dedicated software

We test for WCAG 2.1 AA.

Note: Section 508 is equivalent to WCAG 2.0 AA.
